Brazil Betting Tax Revenue Up 90% But Illegal Operators Still Control Half the Market
Brazil collected BRL 4.586 billion in betting taxes in the first four months of 2026, roughly double the same period in 2025, cementing its position as the world's fifth-largest betting market. But the ANJL's president warns that illegal operators still account for 41 to 51% of all activity, making sustained enforcement the market's defining challenge.
